So far, he has traveled over 50,000 miles by bike on his journey to retrace routes from the past, including the Underground Railroad and the 1897 expedition of the 25th Infantry Bicycle Corps. A monument in honor of the Buffalo Soldiers, the first all-black infantry regiments in the U.S. Army, was unveiled Thursday on the Memorial Walk of Honor at the National Infantry Museum. 1SG (RET) Grady Snell Jr., founder and CEO of the Global Association of Buffalo Soldiers Recognition and Riding Club, said the organization raised the $60,000 necessary to complete the project.
