Millions of Americans live in areas under winter storm alerts stretching from northern Minnesota to the Eastern Seaboard.

People were warned of impossible travel conditions amid the winter storm, with floods and strong winds also likely.

An updated winter storm warning was released by the National Weather Service on Monday at 12:33 a.m. EST in effect until 7 a.m. EST for Schoolcraft County.
